Food courts...OF THE FUTURE!
14 August 2008 @ 02:03 pm
;__;
Well, the fun's over. I got back from Cape Cod this morning, mreh. I already miss it... ;__; My cat Neo wouldn't stop meowing and just bugging the hell out of me in general when we got back, lol. The poor guy missed me; he was literally meowing, purring and kneading into my arms and back all through the night. Rocky just kinda flopped over and purred, and then disappeared, lol.

Anyway, for only being there for a week (my family and I pretty much went up there for my grandparents' 50th anniversary) we got to do quite a few things, like visit Nantucket (it's so disgustingy quaint and adorable, lol), Boston (we got to see Fenway Park, woot!), Sandwich (it has the most adorable English tea house ever) and Provincetown (awesome gay-friendly town with great culture and amazing food), and of course we just had to get lobster rolls, om nom nom! >83 It blows my mind how much friendlier the people are up north and how the food is always perfect compared to down south.

So, the vacation this year, although short, was a tad different, mainly because my parents got into a discussion about moving back to the Cape! We looked at a couple of houses for sale and are going to keep tabs on them, and my dad could easily be hired back to his old job when we used to live up there, and the business is expanding which is great. Of course the move might not end up happening at all, but the fact is that it could work out so well since we're all sick of Florida and I am considering pursuing graduate courses at Dartmouth University in Cape Cod, so if we did move I would be close to home when going to college. If we do end up moving however, I would have to stay behind in Florida until I finish up at UCF, which is not a big deal. So, it might or might not happen and I won't get my hopes up, but I shall have my fingers crossed. ^_^

That's all for now, meh peeps! =]

All I can say is...oh my god. Christopher Nolan totally knows what he's doing because The Dark Knight satisfied all of my expectations. In fact, it totally exceeded Batman Begins, and if you don't feel depressed after watching The Dark Knight then you are inhuman. Inhuman, I say! D8< Now, I must say that I still prefer Tim Burton's versions over the new ones, but holy shit, did Heath Ledger totally pull out all of the stops in his role. When you watch The Dark Knight you find yourself more excited to see The Joker pop up than Batman himself. That is to say, Heath put on a much stronger performance than Bale, in my own opinion, but I still believe that Bale makes a great Batman. The fact that Harvey Dent is in the movie as well and shows how he comes to be Two-Face was very well done; he was a great, if not shortcoming, character that you cannot help but sympathize with.

Although the ending is a little "meh", there is no arguing that Heath Ledger put on a legendary performance as the psychotic and brilliant Joker, and he ultimately kept the movie on its feet. The underlying morals of the movie really say a lot about what it means to be a hero, and when one must stop being a hero, as well as analyzing human nature itself. If you ask me, Heath totally buries Nicholson into the ground when it comes to a better Joker, although I still love both versions. Heath's character is deliciously psychotic, and Nicholson's is plain hilarious. It's hard to choose, especially since Tim Burton's Batman still remains as my favourite Batman movie, but Heath did an amazing job and you can really tell that he had a blast getting into the Joker psyche.

All in all, go see it if you haven't already; you won't be disappointed. My only complaint, aside from the semi-"meh" ending? WHY DIDN'T THEY BRING BACK THE BATMOBILE?! AUGHHH. I swear to god Christopher Nolan hates the Batmobile or something! Bollocks!

He ish complete!

Meh...of course this left me with an empty feeling, particularly that I could've taken advantage of my time to create or finish something worthwhile. Eh, ah well. Oh by the way, if you haven't seen WALL-E, then GO SEE IT! Oh my gawd it's so cute and amazing. Pixar rocks my socks. 8D

P.S. Check out my new layout! 83 I got the code from [info]minty_peach; she has some very nice designs.

Food courts...OF THE FUTURE!

It figures that the day after I set my Myspace page to public status I get this message:

Subject: I will pay you one thousand dollars a day to wrestle with me
Message: Hi Colbster-Might you be interested in my offer?

After I was through dry-heaving I just had to check out this bastard's page. There is nothing on it except for these tidbits: "Good Looking + Generous South Florida gentleman seeks ocassional encounters with attractive and fit females 18 to 25", and "I am a good looking, VEERY GENEROUS white business executive that enjoys the ocasional company of attractive young ladies for rough bedroom activities including WRESTLING and rough sex.". He is forty years old, and he lives not too far away from me. I am still choking back bile, and I am loathing Florida more then ever.

Anyway, carrying on.

Okay, so out of nowhere my muse smacked me in the face late last night and was all, "O hay wut's up? Didja miss me? LOLOLOL." Thus I produced this, resized for viewing purposes:

Here is also the vid of the sketch and lineart process (it's only 25 seconds long):

I am hellbent on finishing this mutha. I am going to try my hardest to make the background as effective as possible, and I will be creating the background first before completeing the horse. The only thing that concerns me now is if the horse will be able to blend with the background, but I suppose I shouldn't really worry about it.

Also, I thought I'd throw in a couple of mini-reviews of the recently viewed Indiana Jones 4 and CoN: Prince Caspian. Be forewarned that you might not like what I say or even agree with me. If you wish to view them, please follow the cut below, and please be mindful of others' opinions. Thank-ya. :B

Mini-reviews! Slight spoiler warning. )

Well now, this is only, like, my one-hundredth journal ever. Baw. This particular one is destined to be a sketch/artblog. To start things off I thought I'd post this, a WIP of something I sketched up last night. Critique is appreciated; I can't shake the feeling that there is something seriously wrong with this one. Gyah.

WIP behind ze cut. )
